Chancellor’s Autumn Budget Statement Announcement – Key Points

Following the Chancellor’s Autumn Budget today the Key points as detailed within our newsletter as follows:-

Retail – High Streets Relief

The Government are to provide a business rates relief scheme for occupied retail premises with a rateable value of less that £51,000 in each of the years 2019/20 and 2020/21 with the value of the relief being one third of the business rates liability after mandatory relief and other discretionary reliefs – to be provided based on estimated likely total costs within the NNDR 1 in January 2019. Assistance with NNDR 1 can be provided so please contact us if you require assistance with this.

Public Convenience Exemptions

New mandatory relief to any such facility made available for use publically under public or private control – further details awaited in relation to the year when this will take effect and the detail of this. Wilks Head and Eve will undertake a full review of portfolios once the full statement has been published.
