Following the Chancellor’s Autumn Budget today the Key points as detailed within our newsletter as follows:-
Retail – High Streets Relief
The Government are to provide a business rates relief scheme for occupied retail premises with a rateable value of less that £51,000 in each of the years 2019/20 and 2020/21 with the value of the relief being one third of the business rates liability after mandatory relief and other discretionary reliefs – to be provided based on estimated likely total costs within the NNDR 1 in January 2019. Public Convenience Exemptions
New mandatory relief to any such facility made available for use publically under public or private control – further details awaited in relation to the year when this will take effect and the detail of this. Wilks Head and Eve will undertake a full review of portfolios once the full statement has been published.
